Unique platform for a fast growing audience

The International Correspondent is an independent business platform for the international community in the Netherlands. It offers a two-monthly magazine and a website. The International Correspondent brings quality background stories and interviews in the field of Dutch politics, economics, business, education and lifestyle and provides advice on living and working in the Netherlands.
The magazine is published in collaboration with partners in business, government and the education sector. It is also distributed by bookshops and magazine stores in the Randstad and large cities. The International Correspondent is not dependent on the government and receives no funding or other assistance from governmental sources.
The International Correspondent is written for a unique market. The international professional community in the Netherlands is growing with a fast pace.

Annually, ten thousands of foreign entrepeneurs start businesses, here. And in 2011, around 80,200 foreign students were enrolled in Dutch higher education, coming from 61 different countries. Currently, 1 of every 10 students is from abroad.
What all these groups share is an interest in relevant articles and advertisements, tailored to their education level and professional background, written in English.
Dutch demographics, increasing specialisation within labour markets, and internationalisation of the education are the leading forces behind future growth of this already large international community in The Netherlands. Whereas the amount of international professionals is growing, there is still hardly any “offline” media, tailored to this huge community. The International Correspondent fills this gap.

 Distribution partnerships

The International Correspondent is partly distributed in closed circulation via the International Partnership Programme (IPP). Among our Partners are companies, government and municipality institutions, schools and universities.

All these Partners have in common that they value their relationship with their international employee, clients or students to the degree that they distribute our magazine among them.

How it work

As part of a partnership contract, Partners receive copies of the magazine for distribution to their foreign employees, international relations or clients. Partners are also intensively

involved in the identification ofrelevant topics and sharing of expertise. Partners get advertising space based upon the number of ordered copies per issue.

 Why

The aim of the print magazine and online platform is to let international relations, foreign employees and aspiring Dutch entrepreneurs feel familiar with Dutch topics of general interest. Whereas much relevant information about (Dutch) products and services is abundantly available in Dutch language, The International Correspondent is the only (print) business magazine for the Netherlands, written in English.

The magazine offers our Partners an effective internal communications medium and an attractive marketing tool to reach the international community in The Netherlands.
The International Correspondent contributes to an international working and study environment. It creates an opportunity for foreign employees and international relations to feel confident and at ease in their new country.
